This policy explains what information is handled by the Sovio website (sovio.io) and by Ask Again Later – Studio, the internal production tool behind the Ask Again Later YouTube channel. Their data practices differ, so each has its own section.

Ask Again Later – Studio: Google user data
Ask Again Later – Studio is a small production tool used only by the creator of the Ask Again Later channel (@AskAgainLaterShow), signed in with their own Google account. It has no user accounts and no sign-up, and it is not offered to the public. It works only with the Ask Again Later channel. Because the only person who signs in is the channel owner, the “user” in this section is that owner.
What Google data it accesses and why
| Permission | How it is used |
|---|---|
YouTubeyoutube.upload | Upload the channel's own finished, owner-approved videos as private videos, and set their thumbnails. Never used to: make videos public or schedule them; edit, replace or delete existing videos; post or manage comments. |
YouTubeyoutube.readonly | Confirm the signed-in channel is Ask Again Later. Check the status of the channel's own uploads. Read the channel's own aggregate YouTube Analytics, such as views, watch time, likes and audience retention. Never used to: receive information about individual viewers; access any other channel. |
Google Drivedrive.file | Back up the channel's finished video files to the owner's own Google Drive, in folders the tool creates, and verify each backup. Never used to: open, read or list any other drive file; delete files. |
The tool does not request or read your name, email address, contacts, or any Google service other than those above. YouTube Analytics figures are aggregate numbers. The tool receives no information about individual viewers.
How it is used
Only to back up and verify the channel's own videos, to upload the channel's own owner-approved videos as private videos and check that they arrived with the approved settings, and to measure how the channel's published videos perform so the creator can make better ones.
What is stored, and where
- Sign-in credentials (OAuth tokens): kept in access-restricted storage used to operate the tool, never in published source code.
- Backup records: Drive file ID, file name, folder, size, SHA-256 checksum, backup status and date.
- Upload records: YouTube video ID, title, privacy status, SHA-256 checksum, processing status and date.
- Statistics: the channel's own aggregate YouTube Analytics figures and their date ranges.
- The records above are kept in restricted-access production storage. The videos themselves are stored in the owner's Google Drive and on the owner's YouTube channel.
How long it is kept
- Sign-in credentials are kept until the owner deletes them or revokes the tool's access. Revoking access stops them working immediately. If the Google app is in testing mode, Google also expires them after about seven days.
- Backup, upload and statistics records are currently retained with the channel's production history, and can be deleted by the owner at any time.
Limited Use
Ask Again Later – Studio's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
YouTube API Services
Ask Again Later – Studio uses YouTube API Services. By using it, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy (www.google.com/policies/privacy).
Revoking access and deleting data
- Remove the tool's access at any time from your Google Account's security settings: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions (also reachable at myaccount.google.com/connections). Select Ask Again Later – Studio and remove access. Stored credentials then stop working.
- The owner can also delete the tool's stored credentials at any time.
- Backed-up videos and folders can be deleted directly in Google Drive, and uploaded videos in YouTube Studio.
- To ask us to delete any record described here, email AskAgainLater.Studio@gmail.com.
Public YouTube research data
To research episode topics, the Ask Again Later production system uses the YouTube Data API with an API key, not with anyone's sign-in. It reads public information: video and channel titles and public statistics (such as view, like, comment and subscriber counts) and, occasionally, the text of public comments on videos. When comment text is kept, commenters' names are not stored and email addresses and @handles are removed. This research data is kept in restricted-access production storage and is not published or sold. If you would like a comment you wrote removed from it, email AskAgainLater.Studio@gmail.com with the video link.
Sharing & service providers
- Google: video files and API requests are sent only to Google's own APIs (YouTube and Drive).
- GitHub (code hosting and automation): stores the tool's production records with restricted access and runs its scheduled, read-only statistics refresh.
- Anthropic (AI assistant): the owner uses an AI coding assistant to operate the tool, so production metadata (such as file names, video IDs and statuses) and the channel's aggregate statistics may be processed by that service under its terms. Sign-in credentials are redacted from the tool's output.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website (see above).
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law.
Security
Access is limited to the minimum Google permissions the tool needs. Credentials are kept out of source code, stored in restricted-access environments and secret storage. The automated statistics job is restricted to read-only requests. No system is perfectly secure. If you believe you have found a security issue, please email us.
Children
The Sovio website does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, and has no accounts or forms. Ask Again Later – Studio is used only by the adult channel owner.
Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to its processing. Because we hold very little personal information, most requests can be answered quickly. Email Sovio.HQ@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes & contact
If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will change. Material changes to how Google user data is handled will be reflected here before they take effect. Contact: Sovio.HQ@gmail.com.
